Construction:  I rolled out a long-ish piece of clay just about the width of my thumb. After that, I made it wavy and made sure the touching points were connected. I flattened it a little then started carving the designs into it. I let it fire then glazed it with a couple of different shades of green. Very quick project.

Reflect:  I liked making my snake because it didn't take long and it's really cute. It can be used as a paperweight or a little shelf decoration. a couple of the things I didn't like were making the face and glazing the tiny cracks. both parts were so tedious.

pinch pots connected

Construction:  first, I made two pinch pots. then I smoothed the inside, trimmed them, and put them together. If I did end up keeping this piece it'd be a bomb, I didn't put an air hole anywhere. I added grooves and a stem to make it look somewhat like a pumpkin, then decided to crush and scrap it.

Reflect:  I didn't enjoy this really at all. I've gotten better at pinch pots so I think if I were to do this again I would make it a lot better and higher quality.  I much prefer just using a slab to make taller cylinders. If I do this again I want to have a clear goal of what I'm doing.

pinch pot in half

Construction:  The construction was pretty simple. I built a pinch pot and made sure all sides were mostly even. Then, I cut it in half.

Reflect:  I think that I probably won't need to do this again. The point of the project was to learn pinch pots and how to make them correctly. Since then, I think I've gotten a lot better at constructing pinch pots. It isn't my first choice for making things though. I do think it was helpful because I use this method very often.
